The Weekapaug Foundation for Conservation is a non-profit land trust in Westerly and Charlestown, Rhode Island dedicated to preserving and protecting the open land and clean water of the Winnapaug and Quonochontaug salt pond watersheds. Our work includes:

Conservation Land

We protect over a thousand acres of green space, marshes, fields and woodlands, which are habitats for migratory and endangered birds, small mammals and dozens of different plant species. Come explore.

Community Events

From guided nature walks, farm dinners, and get-togethers hosted with our partners, we have a summer packed with ways to connect with the land and each other.

Scholarship Fund

In honor of our beloved trustee, Richard Dumouchel, the Foundation awards one URI student with a scholarship to pursue an education in environmental studies or conservation.

Community Garden Plots Now Available

Open to all WFC Members, the Weekapaug Organic Community Garden is a wonderful way to take advantage of one of our beautiful, tranquil properties, and work as a community to bring beautiful organic fruits, vegetables and flowers to your family’s table. No gardening experience necessary, just a love of fresh, organic produce, a desire to work and learn as a community! Limited space is available. If you are interested in obtaining a plot or simply learning more about the garden, please feel free to reach out to Maura Legare.
