Shelter Harbor
Founders of Shelter Harbor Golf Club Preserve
An ecologically rich swath of forest adjacent to Shelter Harbor Golf Club’s course, this 78-acre parcel was donated to WFC by Stonewall LLC in 2018. Interior ponds are spawning grounds to a variety of amphibians, including wood frogs and spotted salamander, and a habitat for a variety of wood ducks. A diverse variety of native plants including wild blueberries, wild cranberries, John’s in the pulpit, wood anemone, and marsh marigolds grow wild in the expansive woods. Deer, rabbits, small mammals and a host of wild birds make their homes here.
