Conservation Land
Our Approach
We protect barrier beaches, salt ponds, marshes, forests and farm fields, providing a habitat for migratory birds, mammals and hundreds of plant species, and preserving the watersheds. We do this by purchasing properties outright as well as negotiating easement holdings with existing landowners.
Deeded Properties
These properties are owned and controlled by the WFC as a way to preserve and maintain undeveloped land.
Easement Holdings
Existing families maintain ownership and control of their land but any development is restricted and subject to the approval of the WFC to ensure high stewardship standards.
