Shelter Harbor Golf Club
The Weekapaug Foundation for Conservation granted conservation easements and restrictions for the development of the Shelter Harbor Golf Course in the early 2000s. The conservation easements permit the golf club and course development and use, but otherwise require that the premises be maintained in its scenic and open space condition. The property is 405 acres. Natural areas are primarily wooded wetland and oak forest, but include several areas of deciduous shrub swamp, emergent wetland, and Palustrine open water. Perry Healy Brook originates on the property, which is also associated with a block of contiguous forestland stretching over approximately 1,500 acres to the immediate north.
