Junction of Route 1 & Route 1A
The Dunn Property is a 1.5 acre-undeveloped, barrier beach close in proximity to WFC’s F.T. Paton Property and adjacent to Quonochontaug Pond to the north and Quonochontaug Beach to the south. The property is cloistered north of the Sand Trail along Quonchontaug Beach in Westerly. This parcel and adjacent protected parcels, drain into Quonochontaug Pond, so its preservation impacts directly the Pond’s water quality. Gray Catbird and Great Egret have been observed in the area, the later a species of Greatest Conservation Need in the State of Rhode Island. Other species present on a particular day may include migratory and resident songbirds, waterfowl and shorebirds.
